A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT

Delta Epsilon Mu (DEM) is the nation’s premier professional pre-health all-inclusive fraternity, dedicated to nurturing a strong community of tomorrow’s healthcare leaders. Established in December 2014, the Chi Chapter at UCLA continues its steadfast commitment to advance this mission by igniting our collective passion for healthcare to future generations of pre-health students and equipping them with the tools to succeed throughout their undergraduate journeys. Our members exemplify the four pillars upon which we were founded: Loyalty, Dedication, Friendship, and Support. 

I joined DEM during my second year, fall quarter at UCLA, and it has truly become a second family for me. Originally from Springfield, Illinois, I came to Los Angeles not knowing what to expect. DEM gave me a sense of belonging and purpose I hadn’t yet experienced. Through this organization, I’ve had the chance to explore new opportunities in healthcare and enjoy experiences I don’t typically get to see in the Midwest, like spontaneous beach days, fun trips, and bonding retreats across California. I am incredibly grateful for the exposure DEM has given me, both professionally and personally, and for the chance to grow alongside such motivated, like-minded individuals.

The guidance I received and skills I attained when I joined DEM have taken me to places initially out of my reach. This organization has been instrumental in expanding my passion for healthcare and dedication to serving my surrounding community. My immense ambition has been nothing but satisfied through the various opportunities I have been given as a member of Delta Epsilon Mu, and I am sure to take all of what I have learned as an active with me in my future professional endeavors.
